Pirelli celebrates 50 years of the was first published callendar back in 1964 and decided to honor the anniversary, following a slightly different approach for the 2014 calendar which will be signed by Helmut Newton.
Of course, this is not new material, but for the collaboration of the famous photographer with the brand in 1986 but which had never seen the light of day.
On this, the persons in charge of the calendar made some additions, with photos taken in June in New York. Photographers, Peter Lindbergh (he had photographed and versions 1996 and 2002) and Patrick Demarchelier (he put his signature on versions 2005 and 2008), both of which have created the most sensual Pirelli Calendars.
This year’s edition beauty testify models that have worked in the past with the Pirelli Calendar, such as Alessandra Ambrosio, Helena Christensen, Isabel Fontana, Miranda Kerr, Karolina Kourkova and Allen Ouek.
Pirelli released a video through which we learn about the history of the the calendar, which was divided into three different seasons:
– The first decade – 1964 to ’74 – followed by an interruption of the calendar (for nine years) due to the global recession.
– The second decade – ’84 to ’94 – during which the Calendar rereleased and his success skyrocketed
– From 1994 to today, which includes the millennium, when the “The Cal”™ morphed into cult object and was recognized as a pioneering concept.
