From Jeanne to Alber, 125 Years of Lanvin’s History

125 years ago, Jeanne Lanvin founded one of the oldest French house, starting from children creations inspired by her daughter, Marguerite. Today, Lanvin celebrates his anniversary through social media, indicating its history and fueling to his lovers with rare archival material, such as photos from the studio of Jeanne Lanvin, plans, and her portraits.

Alber Elbaz chose the Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram and of course ther site of Lanvin, to reveal the journey of the house from 1889 until today, and even the classic logo modified for the occasion. The house’s original logo representing Jeanne and Marguerite Lanvin has been updated with the number 125.

  • The Facebook page, facebook.com/lanvinofficial, kicked off the festivities on Jan. 1 — Jeanne Lanvin’s birthday — and will post updates every Thursday showing the important dates in the house’s history.
  • Lanvin’s 225,000 fans on Instagram (@lanvinofficial) can also check in every Thursday for images of objects found in Jeanne Lanvin’s office at the house’s historic headquarters at 22 Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré in Paris.
  • Pinterest will showcase boards of images or videos illustrating the DNA, codes and themes of the Lanvin brand universe on pinterest.com/lanvinofficial.

The house of Lanvin is the first fashion house in France, which means that it has a special importance. This of course would not say anything by itself, if the story had not shown that it is a name in the fashion industry that will continue to be at the forefront for many years to come, due not only to history but also to talented people have passed from its ranks.
