Ashley Olsen adds another line to her resume with her recent induction to the Council of Fashion Designers of America board. The actress has become one of the ”Great” ones in fashion, and managed to win a seat on the board of CFDA. One of the two members of the label The Row and Elizabeth and James, just at 27, now sits in the most fashion-wise panel. A year after her success along with her twin sister, Mary-Kate, winning first prize in the design of women’s clothes.
The CFDA is a not-for-profit organization found in 1962 by publicist Eleanor Lambert. However, for the last 4 years, Diane von Fürstenberg has been the group’s President. Their mission branches out in many positive directions. First and foremost, they want the point of fashion design to be seen as American art and culture, but they also focus on maintaining a code of ethics in professional, public and trade relations. The fashion industry in America is meant to grow and expand – and with creating partnerships and collaborations this becomes possible.
Furthermore two new members of the CFDA (Council of Fashion Designers of America), including the label Prabal Gurung and Deborah Lloyd from label of Kate Spade. The strange thing is that while Ashley won a place, this was not the same with Mary-Kate. In fact, it is the first time that separated the two professional girls! The trio replace Yeohlee Teng, Kenneth Cole and Isabel Toledo, who will join the special Emeritus Board – for designers who have given up their CFDA responsibilities, but are allowed to retain their title.
