CFDA Awards 2014: The big winners of the night

Untitled #1069
On 2 June, the eyes of fashionistas around the world turned to New York, specifically, the Lincoln Centre, where took place the Association of American Designer awards, aka CFDA Awards. The glamorous ceremony, known as the ‘Oscars of Fashionwere, once again, very interesting (now, there has been no media that has not been dealt with in a transparent dress of Rihanna), while the people who were awarded were indisputably the most discussed (and this) year.
Rihanna
The big winner of the evening. The superstar left, taking with her the prize for the fashion icon of the year. Of course, as usual, the singer from Barbados manages to strongly be discussed, for the revealing outfit. Rihanna appeared with a transparent dress and scarf covered with crystals a barely-there mesh of 230,000(!) Swarovski crystals designed by Adam Selman to the awards show.
Tom Ford
The designer won the prestigious Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award, for its overall contribution to the world of fashion.
‘It’s been a wonderful 25 years and I could have never achieved it without all the people in this room,’ he said while collecting the prize.
Joseph Altuzarra

The designer behind the house Altuzarra was named Womenswear Designer of the YearAltuzarra has already been proposed for CFDA 3 times while in 2011 he was the one who won the prize of the Union in order to strengthen the brand. The house Altuzarra exists since 2008 and is known for his feminine silhouettes and sophisticated aesthetic.

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen
The famous duo behind the label The Row won the award for accessory designer of the year. Olsen were candidate with Alexander Wang and Proenza Schouler. This is not the first CFDA in their career as, in 2012, Mary-Kate and Ashley left the event with the Womenswear Designer award.
Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne
Another duo monopolized the interest of the Union in 2014. The reason for Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne, behind the label Public School. The two designers left winners for their unique Menswear, which is inspired by the monochrome and their cool streetwear.

Jennifer Lopez in Vrettos Vrettakos at Billboard Awards looking fabulous..

Untitled #1062
Yesterday the Billboard Music Awards at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Los Angeles was dedicated to a woman, the first woman in history who was awarded the Billboard Icon Award. The reason for the pop diva Jennifer Lopez who was on the stage twice in yesterday’s great musical evening. The first along with Pitbull and Claudia Lette sang the official anthem of this year’s World Cup FIFA «We Are One (Ole Ola)» and the second appeared solo to debut the second single «First Love»of the upcoming album «AKA».
For this the second appearance, but also to receive the 2014 Icon Award shortly afterwards by Ricky Martin and Iggy Azalea the Latina diva chose a creation adorned with 280,000 Swarovski crystals from the couture collection of the Greek designer Vrettos Vrettakos.

Bold cuts, black silk tulle and golden, metallic shades of Swarovski crystals highlighted the silhouette of the bootylicious Lopez which is another great collaboration of Greek designer and stylist Kolpodinou Dionysis, who dressed also Beyoncé three months ago.

WWYT: Rumer Willis wore a dress that revealed a bit too much for our taste..

Untitled #1028
This post could easily renamed as

GO Home, GO Change

Rumer Willis, daughter of Denim Moore and Bruce Willis arrived at ELLE’s 5th annual Women In Music concert celebration on Tuesday (April 22) in Hollywood, California as is she was attached by a pack of wolves just 5 minuted ago.

Obviously it’s the skirt’s design to look so revealing as also so hideous…

The point is not that Miss Willis wanted to look too sexy for our tastes

The point is not that the skirt is ugly

THE POINT IS THAT WE CAN SEE HER BIKINI LINE

&

HER P-I-N-K UNDREWEAR

Seriously why? It looks trashy, cheap kind of slutty -if your are not going to dance on a pole DONT WEAR THIS DAMN DRESS.

P.S: where’s the point of pink and not black unties dear? Tsk Tsk..

P.S2: This crop top and cut out skirt are Franziska Fox Fall 2014, just saying..

Beyonce at the Brit Awards with a glamorous gown of designer Vrettos Vrettakos!

Untitled #864
The super star Beyonce chose for her only appearance for the first time at the Brit Awards a creation of the Greek designer Vrettos Vrettakos.
Last night at London’s O2 Arena took place the Brit Awards. Among the artists who appeared on stage was Beyoncé, as it was announced at the last minute, who chose to sing the song XO.
For this first performance in the television show of the XO Queen Bey wore an embroidered creation with 400,000 Swarovski crystals in the color of blue zircon from the couture collection of Greek designer Vrettos Vrettakos.
This is not the first time Beyoncé wore a Vrettos Vrettakos creation, as in «The Mrs. Carter Show World Tour »the famous singer had worn a jumpsuit from last year’s spring collection of Greek designer.

For the particular show were created a full-length silky black mold, embroidered with Swarowski crystals in shades of blue (cobalt) and a second with intense exposures waist and hips and equivalent coveralls for the eight-member ballet.

WWYT: Zawe Ashton In Sarah Baadarani at British Independent Film Awards 2013

This look could totally be one big hit for the British actress Zawe Ashton. The simplicity of the dress needed to be enhenced with some statement jewellery of makeup. When you take the road to minimalism make sure you don’t end up being utterly boring.
Plus
What’s with the wringles on the dress. It is unacceptable on a red carpet appearence not to make sure you will photographed (because that’s why you are there) polished.
Plus
The hemming of the dress and the length of the sleeves can only be considered as humorous touch.

WWYT: What Were You Thinking?

Untitled #766
Christina Aguilera attends the 2013 American Music Awards held at Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in Los Angeles, California in a Maria Lucia Hohan dress paired with Christian Louboutin heels, a Jimmy Choo clutch, and Lorraine Schwartz jewelry.

It’s an almost WWYT catagory for Christina Aguilera as this is maybe one of her best lately. BUT still, it’s unsurprisingly awful.

From the top
THE HEAD
The hair are fried, trying to look old Hollywood glam BUT all they remind us is DRAG QUEEN. The makeup is overdone trying to look glamorous BUT looking she’s attending a reception in Carrington mansion. Not good.
THE DRESS
Trying to look like Marilyn Monroe BUT it is so poorly made with the puckerinf fabrics especially around the cutouts with the nettings(!) makes it look so cheap. The proportions of the hem are awkward.

THE SHOES

Oooh the shoes, although they surely cost a fortune the look like even-if-they-give-you-for-free-DONT-wear-them. So sparkling they cause physical pain to your eyes. And with the lenght of the dress looking more bizzare.

Overall, she Mrs Aguilera the standards are not so high so we just let it go…

Peak of the week.

This woman whatever she does will be discussed. Victoria Beckham has a star, this is a given. But what she wore on the red carpet Bambi Awards in Berlin? The Posh of our hearts, as usual, after all, voted black! She chose, therefore, a striking dress from her collection with deep neckline. The gown hugged her body and highlighted her fugre perfectly. Apart from the neckline, discussed variously and the intense smokey makeup.

Victoria Beckham proudly poses with son Brooklyn at Harper’s Bazaar Women of the Year Awards.

The always well-dressed, stylish but cold Victoria Veckham in one of the her rare moments, posing by the side of a man and she can not hide her joy. The 39year-old fashion designer, looking adoringly at her 14year-old son, Brooklyn decided to accompany his mother to the awards of the Harper’s Bazaar for the woman of the year and Victoria.

Her husband David Beckham due to work commitments had to be located in New York and so the eldest son of the couple undertook to accompany his mother to this glamorous event where Victoria won the award for special contribution to the British fashion.

The teenager Brooklyn although was very elegant dressed, he did not seem to be as effusive as his mother. Although he was born literally in front of cameras and lens nevertheless seems timid and looks a little bit embarrassed. But it has all the time in front of gaining more fame by famous parents.

Victoria wore one of her own designs and looked elegant in the black floor-length dress as she proudly pouted at son Brooklyn while protectively resting her arms on his shoulders. She wore her long brown hair to the side and had on some subtle silver jewelry to add a bit of sparkle to her look.
